Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Confirm wall suitability and mark layout

Verify the wall is non-load-bearing using your stud finder and ceiling inspection—check for doubled top plates or diagonal bracing. Measure 24" wide for a standard single pocket door (plus 1" clearance on each side). Mark centerline of opening on floor and ceiling, then plumb up with a laser level.
